Im on to something...
Buy a man a fish and you feed him for a week, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
That would be the campaigns slogan because if the whole world came together as one and just donated something so little the world could and would change in a HUGE way, i mean if you really think about it what could u do with 7,000,000,000? think about how many people we could help, children we could help, diseases we could cure, animals we could save, with just one dollar from each person we could change the world, and thats why im hoping that maybe i could get this off the ground because i think that the world needs to know that even something so small as 1$ could change the world.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So there was an earthquake today in California --> Earthquake Story <-- Anyway so i was in that (my first one) it was kinda cool i mean i know it is a serious issue but it was sorta fun.. Anyway so funny story me and my sister were making --> deviled eggs <-- and she tried some and thats when the earthquake started. so she tried some and she was like woah i just suddenly got really dizzy, so i ate some while she was saying that and as i took the spoon out of my mouth i was like woah... and then thats when we realized we were in a earthquake. we all just sort of stood there and kind of got thrown around! but yea that is my big story of today. it was a fun day!
Dont let people make you keep your feet on the ground
I found this cute video of this dog while i was on yahoo yesterday! [= maybe this dog is like you in many ways but different. for one he cant keep his feet on the ground! for too this dog is still young.. a puppy some might say.
one was you might be different is by my heading i didnt really mean to keep your feet on the ground! what i mean by that is dreaming, DREAM BIG. when i say keeping your feet on the ground i mean lifting off any flying high with your dreams. all the time as i kid i hear adults saying "wow i wish i could do that" or "Wow i wish i would have chose that as my career" or "Man if only i could go back to college and learn how to do that" WELL YOUR THINKING ABOUT IT! i mean if you can think it, you can dream it, and if you can dream it then you can do it! As a kid i dont know if i really have a LOT of experience on this subject but i mean people just need to learn to dream really big and you will reach your goal someday, so do not let other people tell you "oh you cant do that" or even say thats impossible because nothing is impossible when your young and "Fresh" even older people dont have to be stopped by anything, age is just a number. so get out there and do something spontaneous!
What would you do if you were a billionaire for 5 hours?
http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/109237/if-you-were-billionaire-for-five-hours
So the question stands. what would YOU do with almost $90,000,000,000?
Me? i would probably buy out the Gamestop! all of them, because i love going to gamestop and it would be cool to own a company. Also i would take all my friends and family sky diving because that is something that i have always wanted to do. Next i would give my sister enough money to last two lifetimes so she could pay for all her college, and buy a really nice car. Third i would give my dad money so that he could pay off the house then do whatever he wanted to for the rest of his life. Fourth i would give my mom enough money so she could live a happy life as what she really wants to be, an artist. Last i would probably donate alot because i honestly wouldn't need 90,000,000,000. That is what i would do with my 90,000,000,000 to say the least i would try to change the world!
PS, Candice is afraid of whales so she didnt really like the picture well sorry bout that i just thought it was a cool picture.. cause i like whales... but ya
So today we won our basketball game! woohoo i think the final score was 42 - 27 or 32 or something so we are 5-0! i had my first 2 points on the season.. ya i dont really shoot that much cause im not that great of a shooter but on the more positive side i had about 6 steals so i have maybe 10-12 steals on the season! also i think i had maybe 4 rebounds today. so i was a good game, the other team played a good game as well but we came out on top!
As for friday (S*N*O*W*D*A*Y) i didnt really do that much, i just kinda sat at home played some video games then i went to the Rec. to shoot some hoops.. and my friend came over.. that was pretty much it!
tuesday!
sotoday is tuesday and i wanted to say what a wonderful tuesday it is/was. tonight i have bball and i cant wait. its always fun. so today i wanted to share something that i found on the internet last night.
Positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. If you adopt it as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into your life, and makes them happier, brighter and more successful. With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening.
Positive attitude manifests in the following ways:Positive thinking.
Constructive thinking.
Creative thinking.
Expecting success.
Optimism.
Motivation to accomplish your goals.
Being inspired.
Choosing happiness.
Not giving up.
Looking at failure and problems as blessings in disguise.
Believing in yourself and in your abilities.
Displaying self-esteem and confidence.
Looking for solutions.
Seeing opportunities.
A positive attitude leads to happiness and success and can change your whole life. If you look at the bright side of life, your whole life becomes filled with light. This light affects not only you and the way you look at the world, but also your whole environment and the people around you. If it is strong enough, it becomes contagious.
The benefits of a positive attitude:
Helps achieving goals and attaining success.
Success achieved faster and more easily.
More happiness.
More energy.
Greater inner power and strength.
The ability to inspire and motivate yourself and others.
Fewer difficulties encountered along the way.
The ability to surmount any difficulty.
Life smiles at you.
People respect you.
Negative attitude says: you cannot achieve success.
Positive attitude says: You can achieve success.
If you have been exhibiting a negative attitude and expecting failure and difficulties, it is now the time to change the way you think. It is time to get rid of negative thoughts and behavior and lead a happy and successful life. Why not start today? If you have tried and failed, it only means that you have not tried enough.
Developing a positive attitude that will lead you to happiness and success:
- Choose to be happy.
- Look at the bright side of life.
- Choose to be and stay optimistic.
- Find reasons to smile more often.
- Have faith in yourself and in the Power of the Universe.
- Contemplate upon the futility of negative thinking and worries.
- Associate yourself with happy people.
- Read inspiring stories.
- Read inspiring quotes.
- Repeat affirmations that inspire and motivate you.
- Visualize only what you want to happen.
- Learn to master your thoughts.
- Learn concentration and meditation.
Following even only one of the above suggestions, will bring more light into your life!
ithought that was really a good way to put it. epically the last sentence!
so thats what i wanted to share today!
News News News
WOW, as i watch the 10:00 news all i see in the first 5 minutes is a women who murdered her 2 year old... then tiger woods apology.. sheesh people talk about negative! my god. if only there was a channel of news where all they talked about whats whats going on thats positive in the world (dont steal my ideas now!) i would watch it every day to learn new facts about the world and whats going on but i mean COME ON. all negative. no positive. Anyway. so today i lost my debate =[ but thats alright. they had a good debate (i think the judges were bias) but no matter! i asked my teacher if we could have another debate and pick our topics this time. but if you dont already know my topic was video games are bad for kids. but i had the negative so i was ACTUALLY saying why they are GOOD for kids.
one of the arguments was that video games reduce your time you spend with your family.. but i mean comeon. one time when i had my WII i had 3 of my bestfriends families over and we had a WII BOWLING TOURAMENT. does that sound like reduced family time... i dont think so! ANYWAYS..... (im starting to sound like the news, blah blah blah negative blah blah blah negative)
well i have to go to bed now cause its getting pretty late. tomorrow is b-ball.!
Smile today! (like the cat... BIIIG SMIILEE)
So today me and candice had a good laugh. because i was on the phone with her and we remembered a show we watched when i was maybe 7 or 9. we thought it was the funniest thing. the people would run around the supermarket and they had to find the designated item, whenever we watched it we had a blast. the show was called supermarket sweep! woohoo.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSwmFurzkpQ
anyway so thats what made my day was laughing about that. so todays quote.
Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left. ~Hubert Humphrey
when i first read this i thought it was kind of a sad quote... but then i realized that it really isnt. "It's what you do with what you have left" i think that this quote should be famous! its a very good quote about how to live your life to the fullest.. When life gives you lemons.. im back!
No one said it was going to be easy, the day you were born. Your mother never said that life would be a breeze and it will be clear sailing without any struggles, risks, or obstacles to overcome. Instead, you realized that things might not always go your way. Even as an infant, you got hungry, thirsty, bored, tired, sick, cold, hot, constipated, upset, startled, scared, confused, and frustrated by a myriad of circumstances you couldn't possibly comprehend.
As you grew up, you began to understand how you could control certain elements of your environment, yet still suffered from all the troubles I just listed. Even as an adult, we are subjected to these same issues that invade our lives. It appears that life is, and shall remain, a struggle until the day we die. It's how we cope and view these incidents that determine our character and the quality of our existence.
It's all about our attitude. With constant news reports about catastrophes striking every country in the world, how can we feel good about ourselves? There are starving people, natural disasters, political strife, warring nations, terrorism, pollution, health concerns, and over-crowding, both local and nationally. The news apparently is never good.
Add to that, daily confrontations with employers, store clerks, other drivers, and family members, you get the picture. You face a never-ending sea of bills, relationship challenges, and on-the-job dilemmas. Where will it end? Only at death, I'm afraid and some depressed individuals have already decided to end their lives sooner than later. But, for the rest of us that face these facts of daily life, what are our options?
We have to accept why we are on this planet in the first place. Assuming we have only one crack at a lifetime, we get to make the most out of it as possible. Through our own free will and perhaps some divine intervention, we control our fate. We can choose to allow the constant bombardment of negativity ruin our psyche, or ignore the obvious taunts and move forward with a good attitude. It's takes a commitment and constant effort to overcome the flow of obstacles, but it can be done. It begins with the simple things.
Do you smile a lot? Well, you should. Practice at smiling at everyone you see, whether a total stranger you pass in the supermarket aisle or your postman. Saying a kind word at the appropriate time, is even better. How's your sense of humor? Do you like to laugh? The cycle begins when you look and feel good about yourself. Surround yourself with other positive people, while divesting of the negative ones. When someone starts to offer critical feedback in a discussion, politely tell them that you prefer not to continue that particular topic. You can decide to change the subject to something more constructive.
We all have the naysayers that love to harp on life's darker side. It's time to put them aside and focus on people with a good outlook. Just like the negative news, these folks will bring you down. I dread those phone calls and now try to put a good spin on bad news. It's the old art of turning lemons into lemonade.
I relate those events back to the myth of the Phoenix bird. After a life of 500 years, it appears a tragedy is to occur when the bird builds a giant pyre of fire jumps into the inferno. But, later, after being consumed, a baby Phoenix emerges to begin a new lifespan with a renewed sense of optimism. We should all learn from this act.
Out of seemingly impossible situations, new opportunities can arise. This forward-thinking outlook can guide our thoughts and deeds at every juncture. Remember, we have this one life to survive and we are entrusted by our creator to do the best we can. I would imagine that the purpose of our existence is to create, not destroy, to uplift, not to put down, and to leave it a better place than where we found it.
How would you like to be recalled when you have passed away? As the old bitter, person that never had a nice thing to say about anyone or anything? Or as the positive, upbeat person, that embraced life and lived it to the fullest, thereby positively impacting everyone with whom you interacted? It's your choice while you're living.
If I've touched a nerve and got you to think about being a more positive person, then great, because you can make a difference from this moment on. Just get out there and feel good about yourself. Treat yourself to something decadent like dark chocolate, a new pair or shoes for the lady, or a power tool for the gentleman, because you deserve it. Hey, did I just catch you smiling?
A host of new studies show that video gaming might actually improve visual skills and increase brain capacity.
The following is a partial transcript; for full story, listen to audio
Turn off the computer and go outside and play! We've all heard the conventional wisdom that says video games will turn your brain to mush. But a host of new studies show that gaming might actually be good for your health.
Researchers at Nottingham University found that playing certain video games could achieve in one hour what eye patches achieve in 400 hours; while researchers at the University of Rochester found that first-person shooter video games improve visual skills by increasing the brain’s capacity to spread attention over a wide range of events.
But wait, there's more! The Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, N.M., found that Tetris players developed a thicker cortex than those who didn’t play. And the Nintendo Wii has been helping Parkinson's patients improve balance. So, are video games good for you?
Baratunde Thurston, host of "Popular Science's Future Of," a TV show on the Science Channel, says video gaming has more positive effects than you might think.
He says the research shows that there are several benefits to video gaming. "There's the social; There's a new sort of storytelling format, and the way of interacting with other people. It's a mental workout. It's fun, and there's also the ability to destroy things," said Thurston.
Technology writer Clive Thompson, the blogger for Collision Detection and a frequent contributor to "Wired" and "The New York Times," says some of the studies support the mental workout that players can get from the games.
"There's been studies that show for example, if you play Tetris a lot, it increases the white matter in your brain. And the more white matter in your brain, the more efficient you are at doing certain types of thinking.
"And there's been other studies that show surgeons -- laparoscopic surgeons -- if they play video games before they do surgery, they actually have almost 40 percent fewer errors. I's sort of getting their hand-eye coordination up to speed before they do a delicate task like that."
When gaming involves multiple players, it encourages both teamwork and individual effort.
"It's a little society and you learn to be a member of a society with the values and reputation and cost that goes with it," said Thurston.
The idea that gaming might improve certain skills shouldn't be too surprising, since pilots and astronauts have long been trained in video simulators.
"The idea that games could affect your behavior is intuitive because all sorts of areas have used them to train people in doing things quickly, said Thompson. "The thing that's really interesting is that the research has started to branch out to look at these unexpected ways that games might be good to you.
"There's a piece [of research] that came out earlier this year that completely fascinated me, which was the idea that you could us Tetris to treat post-tramatic stress syndrome. Now people think that PTSD as something that happens if you go to Iraq, but it most often happens if you've had a car accident. And what they discovered was if you get someone to play Tetris for 45 minutes or so after a car accident, it might seriously decrease the amounts of flashbacks they have. Essentially it occupies the visual cortex so much that you don't take all those flashbacks images of being in a car accident and read them into your brain as well."
But, Thompson says, there is still that side to gaming that isn't so positive. "Video games are designed to be very addictive. People pay tens of millions of dollars to make these things as addictive as possible. So it's absolutely true that the great danger with them is you'd rather play them than eat."
[at-i-tood,]1.) | manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, esp. of the mind: a negative attitude; group attitudes. so having a positive attitude is this but positive feeling or positive regard to a person or thing. So in my words. to have a positive attitude is to be positive toward an act or person. so what i mean by this is if your positive toward something then your happy and look at things in a more "good" (if you will) perspective. thats what it all comes down to, So if you want your life to be more positive, start looking at the glass half full and be happy and nice to other people around you and more confident. thats how I define having a Positive Attitude, Tell me how you would say what it is! Daily quote: Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be done rather than saying it can't be done. --Bo Bennett |
